Can you give Gorgeous a home?

I am a gorgeous old lady who is feeling quite lucky at the moment as at the grand old age of 11 I have made it to a foster home in the UK. I have spent my whole life in a Greek Shelter after being taken in as a 3 month old puppy after a car accident. I am a little timid when first meet but very docile and sweet. I want to live with another dog to give me confidence but I don't need long walks at all and prefer a sniff round a secure garden and maybe a 15 min walk if I feel like it. This is not because I cant walk or am not fit but because I am a little scared still of the outside world. A lovely quiet home with another confident but mellow dog would be SOOOO Lovely for me now. I am fostered in Essex Please Share for me These beautiful pics courtesy of Jeff Cranwell Photography

REMEMBERING DOMINO

So today it has been a whole year I have spent without my gorgeous and clever boy Domino. I cant quite believe he has been gone that long and still doesn't seem real. I would give almost anything still to have him back with me and the pain is still in my heart. Domino was truly a unique and wonderful companion and he gave me such joy although his time was sadly cut short and he went far to suddenly and soon. I know many people sent me photos after he died and I didn't store any of them as felt too painful at the time, so am going to make a REMEMBERING DOMINO group and I will ask people to add them again and hopefully they will. Things have moved on here and little Jack from China and Olive from Thailand have joined us but there is one big special compartment in my heart that no one else can fill, that is always for you Dom, I love you

Missing Dog found after 4 years with serious injuries

Zeena was found in an absolute mess after being missing for 4 years, it looks as if someone took her and used her for bait in dog fights. Here at Animal Adoption International we despair of the cruelty of human beings to defenceless animals but the fate of poor Zeena also serves as a reminder never to leave your dog unattended if at all possible. Wishing Zeena a speedy recovery and lots of snuggles on the sofa xxx

Can you foster Beauty?

My name is Beauty and I have spent my four years on this planet on a short chain in Greece. Thankfully I am now at Syros animal shelter with some lovely ladies who rescued me. I have the chance to hitch a ride to the UK before Brexit on 24th am told. I don't need any funds just a foster home to call my own. I love people, even though have not been treated well and I hate cats. Please please help me, I want to know what it's like to be loved.

Can you give 7 Year old Calvin a Forever home?

Go to the UK they said, find yourself a forever home they said, its easy they said???? I have been waiting months now and I think I am pretty damn handsome, even if I say so myself. I am not sure what I am doing wrong at all, I am nice to my foster people, nice to her dogs, cats are a pain in the a--e and would rather there were none. I don't poo in the house or chew anything, its just not fair. So, my name is Calvin and I am 7 years old and a collie cross still between homes in Harrogate and I would like a forever sofa. JEEZ come on people, is that too much to ask, please share for me.

Beautiful Nikki Noodles

I couldn't let today go past without saying something about my beautiful long ago passed dog Nikki Noodles. She was my first rescue from Thailand and it is ten years ago today that she passed away from cancer at approx. 13/14 years old. She adopted me on Chaweng beach in Koh Samui in 1998, a fair few years before there were any real sanctuaries in Thailand, Soi Dog did not even exist at the time. I had spent a lot of time in Asia and always resisted bringing a dog back, mostly because I didn't think it was possible at the time but Nikki so ingratiated herself with me it was hard to think of leaving her behind. When I did have to leave after a month on the island she ran after my taxi as I was leaving and it was there and then I decided I had to get her back by hook or by crook. So, I went home and borrowed some money off a non-doggy friend who thought I was mad but went along with it. It was the days of the horrendous 6 months in quarantine and there was no getting past that one. A few weeks later I flew back to Thailand with a friend and we headed back to the island. I had Thai friends, who also thought I was mad, looking out for her so I knew she was still there and safe. So, with the help of a lovely shipper in Bangkok who loved dogs, we got her to the airport, it was touch and go even at the end with the paperwork but after a stressful few days it all got sorted and we put her on a plane. I flew back after her as I wanted to make sure she got on the plane and the quarantine kennels picked her up at the other end. The six months in quarantine was not nice for her but you could visit and as she was getting mange quite badly, leaving her in Thailand would have meant she was just another bald stray that people shied away from or kicked. She lived a very happy 12 years with me and my English rescue Ella, who was old and died a year and a half after she arrived and then for a few years with Mildred the house rabbit who was her partner in crime. She was the most amazing and intelligent and calm dog who everyone said was so well trained but in fact I did absolutely no training with her and she just picked everything up instinctively. She was my gateway to rescue and she started my journey into rescue and so in a way when she chased after my taxi, so long ago she not only saved herself but a whole load of other dogs as well, so that is her legacy. After she died I went to Baan Unrak Animal Sanctuary in Thailand to help Gemma Ashford and the rest followed on from there. I cant believe it is ten years ago already. So, to my beautiful Nikki Noodles, wherever you may be, hoping we one day meet again

Gumtree Dog Devon Update

UPDATE December 2021

This should be a happy post but sadly it is not. I have been wanting to post but it was too upsetting. This lovely video is of Devon in his home. Yes he finally got a home and it was going beautifully. He had finally made it but fate was about to rear her ugly head. He was there 4 weeks and I wanted to make sure it was going to stick before posting and it appeared it was going to. He was so happy and they were happy with him and he behaved beautifully. Alas he started to bleed from his bottom and on further investigations it was found he had cancer that had spread everywhere and there was nothing to be done. My only consolation was that he was in a home those last few weeks but am so angry at the world and just another sign that there is no greater design, its all just chaos out there. Thank you so much to Trudie James and Doris Banham Dog Rescue for all their help with him. I really loved this boy and wished for a better outcome RIP beautiful Devon, this crap world didn't deserve you.

Update February 2021

Devon enjoying a sweet. Devons kennel bills needs to be raised of £280 every month, if any

one can donate ease do by PayPal paypal.me/AAInt and please mark Devon. Read Devon's Story here #fridayfundraiser http://nizsdogzblog.blogspot.com/2019/06/gumtree-dog.html

Update May 2020

Devons kennel bill is looming on the 1st and AAI really need to raise £310 to pay it. Three regular donors have covered his meds for the month but to keep him safe we need to clear this bill. For those that dont know he was rescued off gum tree in a really bad state and sure was just about to be given to dog fighters who were on their way to collect. We offerend them £200 instead of giving for free and he has been under AAI care ever since. His medical issues have been cleared up now and he is now 9 years old. He does have a possible foster offer when all this is over and we can homecheck but for now we really need to keep him safe in kennels who themselves are struggling financially so dont want to be late paying. If you can donate a little to Devon please send to paypal www.paypal.me/AAInt and mark for Devon

SAVING DEVON the GUMTREE DOG
 Devon the GumTree Dog
JANUARY 2020
DEVON is still looking for a foster offer. For those unaware he was rescued, in a terrible state off Gum tree before he was given what sounded suspiciously like dog fighters. He had tumours growing everywhere, a long term put of control skin condition and entropian and has lived in constant pain and irritation for years. AAI have sorted his medical conditions but he is still stuck in kennels and at 8 years old he doesn't have long as this breed typically live 8 to 10 years. Can anyone offer a lifeline, we don't really know how he will be in a home so a child and pet free offer would be ideal. It's a big ask as few people want to help these type of dogs sadly. Please share for Devon and PM if can help
If anyone wants to donate for Devon's upkeep please send via paypal www.paypal.me/AAInt and mark for Devon

UPDATE and FUNDRAISING FOR DEVON SEPTEMBER 2019
So great news for Devon, his biopsies of the lumps removed have all come back clear, a bit of a surprise really. He has had eye op as you can see and is probably pain free for the first time since he was 18 months old, he is now 8. His skin is clearing up but will be on meds for this for the rest of his life. His bills are on going and now he is in kennels we need to raise money for this as well. I have decided to keep him near the vets and Sarah Collins rescue as she has offered to help find him a home but this is more expensive than the original place for him. Need to raise £70 a week.
If anyone wants to donate please send via paypal www.paypal.me/AAInt and mark for Devon
  DEVON GUMTREE DOG UPDATE
18th August 2019
Devon today with the collar of shame. Big thank you to Sarah , Louise and of course Marta the vet who have all come together to help this boy.
  DEVON GUMTREE DOG UPDATE
15th August 2019
Devon had his operation today, the vet wanted to go ahead to get this done ASAP and so gave us credit, it so nice to be dealing with a vet where it is all about the animals and not their bank accounts which is becoming rare. Anyway his eyes were done and now at last can see and will not be in pain. She took off a lump in his ear that has been constantly bleeding, two from his neck, one in his mouth and a huge one that was on his anus, that is being sent away for tests as it could be a dodgy one, we will know soon. His skin will be on going and needs Apoquel every month which is sadly expensive. I have thanked everyone that has donated and a massive £325 was raised. Please keep sharing for the rest of his op and on going treatment and £210 kennel fees as he will stay near the vet for after care. If anyone wants to donate please send via paypal www.paypal.me/AAInt and mark for Devon

DEVON GUMTREE DOG UPDATE
14th August 2019
The last week or so has been very stressful with Devon and have had a lot of decision making to do. This poor dog is broken not only physically but also mentally. He has shown some behavioural issues which we are not sure is from the pain and discomfort he is in or due to the abuse am sure he has suffered for most of his life. I hope everyone knows that I would never lightly think of putting a dog to sleep, but I came very close with this boy and he would have been my first one in nearly ten years of rescue. However with the support of some wonderful people have decided that he deserves a chance so he is having an operation to fix the Entropian, a painful eye condition, that the vet tells me he would have had since 18 months old, he is now 8. The lumps that are causing him discomfort will be removed but cant take all off as he has so many and his skin condition, which is much better though proving to be difficult to cure fully will have to be maintained with medication.
So, we badly need to raise funds for this boy for the op, I have £266. 16 in his kitty from previous fundraising for him and Jaie Petty who stepped in to take him for a few days has raised £100. The vets ( Riverside vets in Grays, if you live nearby please go to them) have been amazing and are charging a cut down price of £800 for all of this but we badly need to make up his funds and give this boy a chance. This boy needs a big share and if anyone can donate to him would be much apprieciated as it is desperate for him to have this op for a better life. please paypal paypal www.paypal.me/AAInt and mark for Devon.
DEVON GUMTREE DOG UPDATE
JULY 8th 2019
Devon our gumtree dog at the vets today having a full examination, hence the muzzle. His skin is miles better but still itchy and he is on Apoquel plus another course of steroids and anti-biotics to try to nip it in the bud. The poor boy has skin tags all over him and one tumour coming out of his bum that the vet is not that concerned about. The one in his ear is bleeding and that is the one causing the most concern. To compel his problem he has a problem with his eyes, his eyelids are growing inwards and causing him pain. The vets suggested an eye specialist to do the op that is now needed but that will cost thousands and just not in the budget am afraid, so will have to go with the normal vet which will still cost over £500 just for the eye op. Am feeling quite angry that someone can let their pet get into this mess and then leave others to sort it out and pick up the bill but seems to be the story of my life at the moment. Am starting a DEVON fund so if anyone wants to donate please paypal Animaladoptioninternational@yahoo.com. The Apoquel costs £80 a month and is on going never mind the ops he needs. God knows what kind of life he has had, his previous name was ASBO so that tells it all. He is quite broken, spends a lot of time whimpering and has formed a unhealthy attachement to Maze, his foster, I guess as he sees him as his saviour, doesn't like to be out of his sight which we shall have to address once the medical stuff is sorted PLEASE HELP US HELP DEVON AND PLEASE SHARE
JUNE 11th 2019
UPDATE on Devon our gumtree boy
Well Devon had another vet visit, his skin is miles better but the vet things rather than mange it is an allergy and may have to be on lifetime tablets. His tumours he suspects but not sure that might be benign, the only worrying couple are in his mouth and one in his ear that keeps bleeding. Have another appointment on 8th of July to check skin and then will see about xrays and removal and/ or testing of tumours. There was £404 left in his kitty and his vet and tablets were £139 on this visit. Still not sure if anything he has is life threatening as yet but he certainly looks better and seems loads happier in himself
Please pray and share for this boy as he has broke all our hearts including the vets..if anyone would like to help with his ongoing care please paypal www.paypal.me/AAInt and mark for Devon
UPDATE ON GUMTREE DOG NOW CALLED DEVON
Devon is doing well, his skin is now not so red and less itching and he is much much perkier in his self. The tumours still haven't been investigated as we want his skin to clear up first but will have to take that as it comes. One of the ones in his mouth did burst the other day so it is a bit worrying but all in all he is definitely feeling better and has even been playing and getting lots of attention. Thank you to everyone that donated to this boy he is a lovely soul and glad he is with his amazing foster

DEVON GUMTREE DOG UPDATE
JUNE 2019
So we have this poor dog in our care now. These pictures don't really show how bad a state he is in as we didn't want to move him around for photos but he has what looks like tumours in his mouth and coming out of his bum. His whole body is a mess and the harness too tight and digging into his already, what looks like mange ridden skin. Myself and the lovely girl that offered to foster the dog advertised on gumtree went round to the house last night to pick him up. We were sure the people they were going to give him to sounded like dog fighters and so offered them £200 to give to us which they accepted. We got there expecting to find a staffie that they said had a small lump on his ear that bled but said had gone to vet and vet said not a problem. We were shocked to find him outside on the grass, crying loudly, not able to get up, with tumours over his body and what looked like untreated mange with bleeding skin everywhere. We told them that this dog was not a dog they should be rehoming but taking to a vet and asked how long he had been like that, to which they replied he was OK a couple of days ago with no issues and had been with her parents who had been evicted and were sleeping in the park. We knew this was ridiculous as a dog doesn't get in this state in two days but they kept to this story so I called a friend who came and helped us take the dog to the Blue Cross. When we got to the vets he suddenly was able to get up and although they were sympathetic said it was life or death situations only they could treat and we would have to take him to a vet in the morning. I offered to pay the vet bill to get a diagnosis and another friend said would long term foster him as the girl that came with me was not prepared or set up to deal with what we found.
To my amazement because I really thought we might not hear from them again they took to the vet the next day and I spoke to the vet who said this was an untreated skin condition, possibly mange that had been left untreated for a very long time and tumours in the mouth and anus and on parts of his body. She said we needed to get the skin treated first as this was the thing most causing him distress and deal with the tumours afterwards which sounded like a good plan. The two girls then said they wanted it in writing that their parents would get the dog back once they were sorted with their housing. I contemplated lying and just agreeing as they had no way of finding me afterwards but felt they needed to be told this wasn't acceptable.
So, told them that if this was the case then they should be paying their own vet bill and not expecting the rescue to pay and then give them the dog back. They seemed to be backing out of our agreement and was worried they would just leave the vet with the dog and that would be it. So, I phoned the reception and said this was an obvious abuse and neglect case and if they were not signing the dog over to us then the vet should refuse to let him leave and call the RSPCA and the police to deal with it , knowing this would probably mean he would be PTS but honestly was a better option then leaving with them. thankfully they agreed. Upshot is they agreed and signed him over and the lovely girl who came with me has him at hers for a couple of nights until he moves up to his permanent foster in North London. The vet said that she must tell us that he has underlying conditions which does mean that he might not make it in the end and we understood this but at least we can try and if that happens then at least make the end comfortable for him which he is so not now. We raised just over £500 for him yesterday which is utterly amazing and the bill today for him was £240, this case is going to take a lot more though and so if anyone would like to help with his ongoing care please paypal Please pray and share for this boy as he has broke all our hearts including the vets.

This little chap was found sleeping rough on the streets of Romania, cold and lonely. Luckily for him he found himself rescued but still in a cold pen in Romania. Sarah has been waiting in a shelter in Romania now for nearly a year

This is Sarah, she has been waiting in a shelter in Romania now for nearly a year for someone to help her. She was initially taken out by mistake as the dog wanted was Snoopy but when this was discovered another 'rescuer' said they would take her on as she couldn't go back and even got a sponsor for the first three months which was not paid. Anyway I have said we will take her and will need to raise her transport but first we need a foster offer for her. She is shy but nothing nasty about her at all and just will need someone with patience and a secure house and love to give her. Please PM if you can help and please share for her, fostering saves lives guys.

Meet Gusti

This is Gusti, he is looking for either a foster home or forever home. He is a cute little fella, good with dogs, ignores cats on walks but will need to be tested, ignores sheep etc as well. He is good on lead and clean in the house and a lovely boy. He has one issue, he is fine with everyone outside, loving and cuddly but in the house he becomes guardy of the lady of the house and barks at the other members of the house hold.

That is as far as it goes though so think if someone was prepared to work with him that it could be overcome. So either people that can work with him or a single person household is needed. Please share and stop this little boy having to go to kennels.

If you could offer Gusti a forever home please email: animaladoptioninternational@yahoo.com or contact via the Animal Adoption International facebook page .

Meet Floppy

This is little Floppy, taken out of the awful public shelter of Milhesti, his sibling didn't make it. Now a really good rescue in the UK has offered him a place for rehoming and we need to raise the funds for him to go £190 for transport and traces kennels and £60 for prep. Floppy can leave Romania and escape the horrible winter on 9th of Nov if this happens. Please donate to Floppy if you can at paypal https://www.paypal.me/AAInt and mark for Floppy thank you and please share.

Welcome to the UK Olive

Olive is such a lovely girl, a 2 year old Basenji cross with a traumatic past. She was attacked with a machette while minding her own business in Thailand. Luckily for her she was rescued by a lovely English woman who lives out there. She struggled when she first arrived but with patience and love she has come through. Cheeky and fun loving she is looking for her perfect home. We feel that she would be best placed with older children who will understand her needing time to settle in. She would also be best as an only dog and not cat tested. She is fostered in the Portsmouth area.
If you could offer Olive a forever home please email: animaladoptioninternational@yahoo.com or contact via the Animal Adoption International facebook page .

Black jack goes crazy for tummy tickles!

Black jack goes crazy for tummy tickles! He's an older chap looking for a retirement home. Ignores other dogs but would prefer a home where he is the Centre of attention. He's not getting any interest at the moment and would love to leave boarding for a home of his own for the first time in his life

Beautiful Raffles is reserved for adoption

Beautiful Raffles is reserved for adoption. We are just waiting till some building extension work is finished and she will be on her way to her new home. She has come on in leaps and bounds with Alex Claridge and now enjoys strokes and tummy tickles. She is going to a super experienced home with an array of other dogs coming and going and one constant lurcher pal, she will love this as is so dog orientated.

Bunty is now ready for her forever home.

Bunty is now ready for her forever home. She has really come out of her shell since the first day she got here. She is approx. 4-5 years old, completely house and lead trained and very very loving. She was on the list to be killed in a kill shelter in Romania and had an offer only for it to fall through. Was were asked to take her and how could I refuse, look at that face.

She was terrified the first day but is coming round and thinking oh its ok here and has slept for England really soundly, snoring away most of the time. She loves cuddles and can live with another dog as is with four others here at mo. She is a little nervous of people on walks but I think that will pass as she has only been here a couple of weeks and has come on in leaps and bounds. Please share for her, she is fostered in London

Snoopdog goes to Work

So Snoopdog came into work with me yesterday and was instantly a hit with everyone. He has now been on all sorts of London transport, cars, buses, tubes and trains and not phased by any. He loved coming into the office and being the centre of attention and behaved impeccably.

Snoopy is looking for his forever home. He is a really lovely boy, very sweet and loving, on the smaller side of medium. He is good on the lead, house trained and good with dogs and although really good with children, he is bouncy as he is still a puppy and so would prefer him to go with children ten years or older. We haven't cat tested him yet but in the street he so far isn't bothered by them though that is not a good enough test and would have to test more thoroughly for cats. He is in the South of England and will make a lovely addition to someones family.

If you could offer Snoopy a forever home please email: animaladoptioninternational@yahoo.com or contact via the Animal Adoption International facebook page
