KELLI'S GONE HOME! - 3 SYROS DOGS LIVING HAPPILY EVER AFTER TOGETHER!...

So lovely Kelli who spent her whole life nearly in a Greek shelter has found a loving home with AAI foster Eleanor, lovely ending for her and she gets to live with her pals.

KELLI'S GONE HOME! - 3 SYROS DOGS LIVING HAPPILY EVER AFTER TOGETHER!...

Yep she's arrived!.. Beatiful 11 year old Kelli has just made the car trip across London from her wonderful foster home with Gill where she's spent the last 7 months. She's now in her forever family with her mum Eleanor & her best friends from Syros Ektoras & Ismini!!..

Three Greek dogs who spent 10+ years in the same kennel at the Syros Stray Animal Shelter / Καταφύγιο Αδέσποτων Ζώων Σύρου are now reunited & living together in their new retirement home in England!

We are so happy for these 3 seniors and can't believe they will all be together! They were best friends at the shelter & this is like a dream come true!

It definitely takes a "village" to make this happen so we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped along the way. Firstly to Virginia Preka & all the shelter voluneers from Syros who has cared & loved these dogs for so many years. A huge thank you to Niz Khan for re-homing these beautiful dogs in such a great family, to Gill Boot for providing the most wonderful foster environment & bringing Kelli out of her shell and to Eleanor Moss for opening her heart so widely & giving a beautiful loving home to 3 dogs from Greece whom she'd never met previously and providing them with a loving caring home.

The  video is Kelli's first hours in her new home with her old friends. She's the one with the red harness, they are all so alike "pea's in a pod"!

Eleanor has promised us more videos as Kelli settles and we will post them here for you all to enjoy.

Great news for Peanut & Daisy

Some lovely news, yesterday both Peanut and Daisy have been adopted by a lovely family together. Peanut was adopted out via AAI a couple of years ago and sadly her lovely Dad Peter died suddenly at home on new years eve. Peanut lay with his body for two days. She went back to original foster mum Crissie Chambers who was already fostering Daisy and the two have become firm friends and now they have found their forever home together. I hope Peter wherever he is, is looking and happy they she will be taken great care of now

BlackJack, who has waited so long, has bagged himself a home at last.

Some good news, BlackJack, who has waited so long, a year and a half I believe has bagged himself a home at last. He is an old boy with a few issues, he doesn't like his collar touched and can bite due to fear, I suspect from his experiences with the dog catcher. He was adopted a few months ago but returned but his new adopter is well experienced with difficult dogs and although he has this issue is generally a love bug and wants cuddles. Thank you Alison for looking after him all this time and putting up with his stinkiness when he arrived. Have a fabulous life Black Jack

Have a great life Babis!

So old boy Babis went off to his new home yesterday with his lovely new owner Margaret. Poor old boy was thrown in the shelter as a pup in Syros 8 years ago and has spent his whole life there. Luckily for him Cindy Ameyfrom K9 Aid and Debra Tuckett met him when they were visiting the shelter and sent him over to us to home. He apparently loves the underfloor heating in his new home. Thank you also to Sally Langran and Mike Langram for transporting and raising funds for him and as always to Linda Van Der Rietfor all her help with logistics. Have a great life Babis.

Have a great life Ozzie!

So at last someone has seen Ozzie for the gorgeous dog that he is and he has found his forever home. He is going to have a collie girlfriend with a very experienced collie home and will have a great life. Always nearly comes good in the end I have found. He will be leaving his foster home and heading off to the wilds of Coventry. Have a great life Ozzie.

4am and this beautiful little old boy has made his mum cry and burst with pride...

A note from Lucy, Peter's Adoptive Mum:

"4am and this beautiful little old boy has made his mum cry and burst with pride. We have had Peter two and a half years and he has always chosen to sleep on a blanket, tea towel, coat, his flat bed or even just the floor. After being on the streets and then just having a wooden pallet in the awful dog shelter he never showed interest in a proper bed. So coming downstairs to see him curled up and snug in a proper bed has moved me to tears. These babies are amazing. Love you soooo much my little old boy 💙💙💙💙💙"
It’s so lovely to be kept updated and how adorable does Peter look snuggled up in his little bed?

Lovely Beatrice has found herself the perfect forever home.

So lovely Beatrice has found herself the perfect forever home. She has had a bit of a journey somehow ending up in the infamous Danyflor shelter she was taken out and caught up in the South Killingholme raid in March this year. She was held by the RSPCA for three months while they verified who the owners of all the animals were that were seized but eventually we got her back. Alas, we found out she had tested positive for heartworm and had not been treated. Thankfully she was only just at the beginning and it was treated successfully. She bagged herself a great foster home in the form of Kaisha and Greg and Tommo who have loved and cared for her and are really sad to see her go BUT she is now ready for her forever life and will be moving to Folkstone at the weekend with her new Mum and Dad who are super excited. Good luck Beatrice, it has been a pleasure to know and walk this girl everyday, she is a really special soul and we all love her very much.

Pebbles has finally found her forever home

So, Pebbles has finally found her forever home. Unbelievable that it took so long to get her a home as she is a super little dog with no issues BUT she has bagged herself the best home she could possibly get to be honest. Thank you so much Shelly Jenkyns and family for being so patient and looking after her so well, good fosters who don't let the dogs down are worth their weight in gold and I know the family must be feeling a tad sad after 6 months. Thank you also to everyone that helped this girl Kimi Watts and Irene Scott for rescuing her in Cyprus and Rebecca Rye-Photography for the wonderful photographs. Have a great life Pebbles

So Roland has bagged himself a home. A very sweet end for him for a very sweet dog that got himself rescued out of the infamous Danyflor shelter in Romania when he was seen comforting another dog in distress. Have a great life Roland.

Adam and Eve have bagged themselves a Forever Home TOGETHER

Some fabulous news, I went to do a homecheck near me today with a lovely couple who lost their dog in February. They were applying for a totally different dog but after looking through our page they have decided to adopt Adam and Eve TOGETHER. Adam and Eve have become firm friends after being taken out of the shelter together and I didn't want to leave one there and take the other out even though little Eve had a foster. Thanks to everyone that helped them. Have to raise 75 euros which is their last foster fee so if anyone wants to donate to these two please paypal https://www.paypal.me/AAInt and mark for Adam and Eve thank you

Lily is adopted!

Another one joins the failed fosterers club! 2 days Michelle managed! Remember I posted saying I had recruited some new fosterers as we had so many dogs needing placing? That was last week...this week Michelle has adopted Lily who now lives with 2 other dogs including another one from me adopted years ago. So.......i need more fosterers again! Any volunteers?
On a more serious note...many congratulations and thank you so much Michelle
