Sonia pit bull mix Romania

Sonia was taken out of the public shelter 2 years ago, very thin and sickly and no one realised she was a pit bull mix and so sadly can't come to the uk although is super friendly to people. She is in a nicer private shelter in Romania and gets out of her pen frequently but if anyone know of any people in bully friendly countries please share her. She has 10 euros of her shelter fee covered this month but needs 15 euros to keep her safe. If anyone can donate to her please paypal www.paypal.me/AAInt  and Mark for Sonia thank you

Can you offer Hector and Izzy a forever home together?

We are family I got my bruv and sister with me........ Ektoras and Ismini are two 9 year old Greekies brother and sister who were dumped at the shelter as pups and have spent their whole lives there sadly. They have come to the UK and found their English names to be Hector and Izzy and are looking for that special person to offer them a home together. They are so loving and quiet and seems like always lived in a home. They love the comfort and are clean in the house and walk well on a lead. They are dog friendly but not cat tested. They are fostered in South East London

URGENT KENNEL APPEAL

URGENT KENNEL APPEAL
We now have 23 dogs in kennels awaiting their forever home. This winter has been an exceptionally busy time as we have had so many emergency requests from shelters across Europe to get dogs to safety especially given the huge uncertainties with regulations after BREXIT.
As you know we have some amazing foster families but these are in seriously short supply so the only option we have is to pay for kennel boarding fees while the dogs await their forever home. As you know we are working night and day to find families and we are so blessed knowing the overwhelming majority have found the most amazing loving homes any dog could wish for
The total number of dogs in kennels is 23.
The total monthly bill is £1000 and this is really draining our funds.
Many of you do support AAI with monthly donations and these are so appreciated as they are a lifeline. Sadly, even these are not covering all the kennel costs, we have about £100 a month of that covered at present, if anyone wants to join the monthly donation list please let me know
If any supporters and friends could possibly help to cover these extra costs we are incurring for the sake of these adorable dogs please, please, please consider sending something
PAYPAL: www.paypal.me/AAInt
Please add a note KENNEL FEES so we can ring fence these donations.
Here are some photos of the dogs now safe in kennels but who so desperately need to have their boarding costs covered. If we had not placed them in kennels their fate would have been death. Please help us to help keep them safe, fed, healthy and loved.
As always, your donations will be lovingly and gratefully received.

Can you give Gorgeous a home?

I am a gorgeous old lady who is feeling quite lucky at the moment as at the grand old age of 11 I have made it to a foster home in the UK. I have spent my whole life in a Greek Shelter after being taken in as a 3 month old puppy after a car accident. I am a little timid when first meet but very docile and sweet. I want to live with another dog to give me confidence but I don't need long walks at all and prefer a sniff round a secure garden and maybe a 15 min walk if I feel like it. This is not because I cant walk or am not fit but because I am a little scared still of the outside world. A lovely quiet home with another confident but mellow dog would be SOOOO Lovely for me now. I am fostered in Essex Please Share for me These beautiful pics courtesy of Jeff Cranwell Photography

Sheppy from Albania

This is Sheppy from Albania. This boy is killing me, I travelled to Albania to pick him up for another rescue and lovely Bert for my rescue. He was a total joy to travel with, friendly and loving to everyone he met and a real lovebug. He got a home very quickly, well look at him and he knows how to play people as you can see. Sadly after a few weeks in his home he started to guard them, thought he was protecting his family but this got him returned. It is hard for me to imagine him doing anything bad has he was so good on the journey and at my house. So, he is back in kennels and this is killing me as he really is a lovely boy and needs and is desperate for love. He is a large size boy as you can see and good with other dogs, he even lived with a little shitsu in his home. I really need to get him out of kennels now and have said will take him under our rescue but really need a foster offer, obviously with some experience and no cats PLEASE SHARE.  #k9hour #rescue

I have the chance to hitch a ride to the UK before Brexit on 24th am told. I don't need any funds just a foster home to call my own. I love people, even though have not been treated well and I hate cats. Please please help me, I want to know what it's like to be loved.

Rosie has been in foster over a year and she needs to find her forever home

Rosie has been in foster over a year and she needs to find her forever home.Rosie Posy’s gentle soul shines through her nervousness and fear. She's a glossy, long legged beauty who will be very loyal once you understand her and gain her trust. Given a caring, compassionate home she will make a wonderful companion. She is still a work in progress but perfect for those looking to build a strong bond through training, consistency, patience and a sense of humour. Rosie is capable of giving years of joy; she has already mastered the enthusiastic ‘welcome home dance’. She loves to be a couch potato now she has somewhere comfy to practice the art, she enjoys playing having learnt how great it can be and she is open to bribery and corruption when needed with the right food incentive (Edam please).
So far Rosie has somewhat overcome her incredible fear and hard background to learn many things, some basic commands including ‘wait’, ‘off’, ‘up’, ‘come here’, etc. and some tricks like giving paw, stand and touch. However, despite her brilliance, I suspect she may always be of a nervous disposition...the hoover is never going to be a friend. She hasn’t mastered 'sit' yet as she doesn’t naturally do it often, I think being quite long legged it’s not a comfortable position for her so I haven’t pushed it. She is now house-trained and will let you know in a very subtle way when she needs to go, although it’s not often...I think she's part camel frankly. She will need to be given plenty of time to settle in a new place and to learn what you want from her, but she’s smart and will have you dancing to her tune very quickly.

Beautiful Nikki Noodles

I couldn't let today go past without saying something about my beautiful long ago passed dog Nikki Noodles. She was my first rescue from Thailand and it is ten years ago today that she passed away from cancer at approx. 13/14 years old. She adopted me on Chaweng beach in Koh Samui in 1998, a fair few years before there were any real sanctuaries in Thailand, Soi Dog did not even exist at the time. I had spent a lot of time in Asia and always resisted bringing a dog back, mostly because I didn't think it was possible at the time but Nikki so ingratiated herself with me it was hard to think of leaving her behind. When I did have to leave after a month on the island she ran after my taxi as I was leaving and it was there and then I decided I had to get her back by hook or by crook. So, I went home and borrowed some money off a non-doggy friend who thought I was mad but went along with it. It was the days of the horrendous 6 months in quarantine and there was no getting past that one. A few weeks later I flew back to Thailand with a friend and we headed back to the island. I had Thai friends, who also thought I was mad, looking out for her so I knew she was still there and safe. So, with the help of a lovely shipper in Bangkok who loved dogs, we got her to the airport, it was touch and go even at the end with the paperwork but after a stressful few days it all got sorted and we put her on a plane. I flew back after her as I wanted to make sure she got on the plane and the quarantine kennels picked her up at the other end. The six months in quarantine was not nice for her but you could visit and as she was getting mange quite badly, leaving her in Thailand would have meant she was just another bald stray that people shied away from or kicked. She lived a very happy 12 years with me and my English rescue Ella, who was old and died a year and a half after she arrived and then for a few years with Mildred the house rabbit who was her partner in crime. She was the most amazing and intelligent and calm dog who everyone said was so well trained but in fact I did absolutely no training with her and she just picked everything up instinctively. She was my gateway to rescue and she started my journey into rescue and so in a way when she chased after my taxi, so long ago she not only saved herself but a whole load of other dogs as well, so that is her legacy. After she died I went to Baan Unrak Animal Sanctuary in Thailand to help Gemma Ashford and the rest followed on from there. I cant believe it is ten years ago already. So, to my beautiful Nikki Noodles, wherever you may be, hoping we one day meet again

This lovely old boy from Greece is looking for a retirement home

So Tony Blackburn made it to the UK yesterday and what a lovely old boy he is. He has spent just about all of his 11 years in a shelter in Greece but now he is here for retirement. It looks like he might be immediately adopted by his foster too, fingers crossed. Thank you to everyone who helped him on his way and to Syros animal shelter and the ladies there.

Could you adopt gentle Rosie?

She does shed but will now tolerate (secretly enjoys) being brushed for a while. Her pleasures now include having her ears scratched, her tummy rubbed and food. She had a rather sensitive stomach but is ok now she has mostly raw food (not the bought mince type like nutriment though). I’m happy to give a detailed list of food etc. to her new home and a starter pack if wished. It would be best for Rosie to be the only pet in the household. I also feel she would benefit from a smaller quiet family or person as she can find it daunting with too many options on whom to go to and seems to bond strongly with one person. At present she is not going for walks as having a harness and lead attached is too stressful for her so a good sized secure, dog friendly (digging areas) garden would be ideal, this may never change so you need to be prepared for a home comforts sort of dog.Prospective adopters are welcome to come visit her as often as they feel necessary in fact I think many visits would be best for all concerned. Fetita is a 3 year old collie cross who is a little doll and looking for her forever home. She lives with a few other dogs and is good around them. She loves to play. Ignores the cats who are dog savvy cats. She is house trained and good on lead and a very friendly and loving little girl. Can you help Jack? A dog rescued from the cruel dog meat trade?

I have been asked to take two little dogs rescued from the dog meat trade in China. This is poignant with the Yulin festival about to start. The first is little Jack who was caught by his paw in a dog trap, a common method to catch dogs for the meat trade. Thankfully he was rescued before they came back to check the trap and now I have been begged to find him a foster as there is a flight volunteer flight available on the 23rd June. He is a shy little boy but non aggressive, just needs some love to get over his trauma. If you can foster please

Plz  email Niz: animaladoptioninternational@yahoo.com ref Jack or contact via the Animal Adoption International facebook page .

BlackJack, who has waited so long, has bagged himself a home at last.

Some good news, BlackJack, who has waited so long, a year and a half I believe has bagged himself a home at last. He is an old boy with a few issues, he doesn't like his collar touched and can bite due to fear, I suspect from his experiences with the dog catcher. He was adopted a few months ago but returned but his new adopter is well experienced with difficult dogs and although he has this issue is generally a love bug and wants cuddles. Thank you Alison for looking after him all this time and putting up with his stinkiness when he arrived. Have a fabulous life Black Jack
